Does WPF provide support identifying resources?
WPF will assist as much as possible in identifying resources in your area and sourcing supplies, volunteers, etc.

Are there attendance requirements?
We do not have participant attendance requirements. We ask for each spoke organization to conduct sufficient outreach to reach parents and caregivers who may benefit from support groups. You will know your area best, including what types of outreach might be most effective. WPF is glad to brainstorm ideas and supply marketing materials.

How much is the stipend and what can I use it for?
Each spoke organization will receive a stipend of $750 to help offset the expense of holding the support groups. Each organization will receive half of the stipend prior to the first support group and the remaining half at the mid-point of the program. Here is an outline of our budgeting suggestion, although you are not required to adhere to this outline:

What data will we be expected to track?
We expect participants to self-report an improvement in coping skills by at least 10% and an improvement in feelings of support by at least 25% after attending 8 groups. A successful program will include at least 20% repeat participants week after week at each spoke location. It is our hope that at least 5 of the spoke organizations express a desire to continue with the program after the initial 8-week session. We have more than one year of curriculum available for continuing support groups beyond the first eight weeks.
Outcomes and feedback will be collected through surveys from participants and spoke organizations. Pre- and post- surveys, satisfaction surveys, and any other required data collection structures will be provided by WPF.

What is WPF?
Established in 2021 in Kansas City, Whole Parent Foundation (WPF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit offering compassionate, whole-person mental health care for parents across Missouri. Our two-pronged approach includes: (1) free weekly peer-led support groups, virtual and in-person, for parents and caregivers experiencing mental health challenges related to parenthood; and (2) our Free Therapy Program, which connects underserved parents with free, culturally responsive, trauma-informed therapy.
WPF is governed and operated by a group of working board members, including social workers, counselors, community activists, birthworkers, writers, support group facilitators, and compassionate human beings who believe parents deserve better: better mental health treatment options, more physical supports and resources, more recognition for all that they do.

What are WPF's values?
We value inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility (I.D.E.A.). We take actionable steps toward honoring these concepts. We believe every parent and caregiver—regardless of race, nationality, sexual orientation, gender, age, or ability—deserves accessible, culturally humble, compassionate mental health care. We do not make assumptions about parents who participate in our programming; rather, our approach is person-centered and person-led, allowing the person to feel in control of their own care. We are also committed to trauma-informed support, knowing that many of the parents who participate in our programming have experienced multifaceted discrimination. We seek to provide our participants with wraparound care, including referrals for physical needs, such as housing and food assistance.

How can we get in touch with WPF for support?
Whole Parent Foundation will be available via email (expansion@wholeparentfoundation.org), phone, and zoom meeting as much as our schedules allow for additional support, questions, concerns, and feedback. We want your groups to be successful and will support you in any way we can!
